This painting takes part of my new collection “ENOUGH!”, which I started during quarantine. The main subject of “ENOUGH!” is women in their everyday life, problems in the society, their desires, their strengths and weaknesses... as well as the overconsumption and nowadays fashion traps.
I show their thoughts through souls of women. This is like a selfie, which opens their world to us. This allows us to embody the character.
I tried to present this collection with an extreme tonality and female protest...but with a bit of humor and a positive message.
On this painting, the woman just screams "ENOUGH !", throwing away her jeans and cigarettes. She is tired of her outfit, dressed with a jean and smoking tobacco every day. It feels good to be beautiful in pretty lingerie and feminine attire! Then we see the world across pink glasses...
I chose to work on 100% linen canvases because I like to work with quality materials, which can last over time. In my opinion, acrylic fits well with the style that was used in this collection of works, namely pop-art. Brushes, brushes and acrylic felts.
