My favorite flowers are peonies.
In traditional Chinese and Japanese art, peonies represent feminine beauty as well as wealth and status. Peonies are of particular importance in China, the homeland of this flower. In this country, the peony is the national flower and symbolizes wealth, power and is often found in traditional painting, silk embroidery, national dress and jewelry.
In Western culture, peonies do not have the same symbolism that is characteristic of China. In the Christian world, delicate pink flowers are a special symbol of femininity, maternal love and the beauty of marriage. But also this flower can mean prosperity, compassion and even shyness.
