When cherry blossoms bloom, Japanese people feel that the warm season has arrived. And the sight of cherry blossoms makes us feel happy. By the time the cherry blossoms fall, the yellow-green shoots begin to sprout en masse, and the colorful season begins. The clothes people wear also become more colorful, and the number of women wearing bright skirts increases during this season, which makes me feel excited. Humans are able to maintain a sense of calmness by being in contact with nature, and the instincts of the wild are still alive in our bodies. In this work, an elastic bandage for medical use (expressed as something that heals wounds or wraps the heart) is bonded to a wooden panel, and painted with gesso and acrylic paint and pastels. The turquoise blue circles, painted in myriad different sizes, represent the movement of the sky and wind. The pink cherry blossoms represent spring, and the yellow and orange spheres represent warm sunlight. In the center is Maru-chan, the Maru Fairy, who lives on Maru World, an imaginary planet far away from the galaxy, and who travels between the Earth and Maru World. Maru-chan is happy that people who could not come to see the cherry blossoms due to the corona virus can now come to see the cherry blossoms. Maru-chan hopes that all living creatures on Earth will soon regain happiness and a sense of peace of mind.
