This work was awarded a special prize at the 96th Nika Exhibition. It is a memorable work that was awarded to me for the seventh time. The first time I was selected was for tempera painting, then I changed to a mixed technique of oil and acrylic, and then to a technique of applying gold leaf to acrylic painting. The support is a cotton cloth on a panel. The term "sweet moon eclipse" was coined to express the fact that modern society is changing like the waxing and waning of the moon, and the themes, painting materials, techniques, and shapes of my works are changing in various ways. It is a word I coined with the meaning that it is a hymn to the people living today. The work is based on what I felt there during my four years in Ukushima, the northernmost island in the Goto Islands. It is a hymn to human beings who coexist in awe of nature.
