Description

After a firm base coat of gesso is applied and polished to create a flat surface, the lines are layered on top of the surface to create a three-dimensional effect. The white lion is said to be a "messenger of God" in Africa, perhaps because of its rarity, and there is a legend that it beckons happiness. I painted this work with such a mysterious and solemn image. Acrylic on canvas, size F6, signed: lower and reverse side of the canvas, created in 2021
