This work is called "Ruby box", although my subconscious will call it "I want spring!". I sat down at it, remembering Grandma's beautiful jewelry box. Its lid was thickly strewn with red and green stones. As a child, it seemed to me that these were, of course, emeralds and rubies.it contained her rings and earrings, inherited from her mother, given by relatives or grandfather for their long life. There was also a very beautiful antique bracelet inlaid with three huge carmine red round stones. I don't know what a gemologist or a jeweler would say, but when I tried on a bracelet on my children's hands, I imagined that these were certainly rubies from the collection of a distant Indian sultan. They must have been received by grandpa for some outstanding feat, and the sultan personally handed over these treasures to him. And so the rubies ended up in this wonderful box! Granny only smiled mysteriously at my fantasies, which actually confirmed my version of the origin of this bracelet!
Well, the box began to open more often by its owner just in the spring... somewhere from April, when the juicy young grass was already thickly covering the fields, it was possible to change winter outerwear for something more elegant and comfortable, while wearing jewelry. All this is vividly imprinted in my childhood memory. And today, in the middle of winter, everything is white outside the window; children are building a snow castle in the yard, and my southern soul is asking for spring and bright colors! The plot and the palette of colors fell on the canvas by themselves: they flowed straight from childhood. I really hope that the bright colors of my work will give you a wonderful bright mood!
