Concept

Florian Schmidtner is a german painter, known for his colourful and energetic artworks. He studies Visual and Applied Arts in Vienna, where most of his art is being created.
His acrylic paintings are influenced by sceneries and situations of everyday life, which capture the mood and energy of inconspicuous small places and moments.
His art is about love, happiness and mental health.

Artist Statement:

With my art, I want to encourage people to return to their origins, to immerse themselves in the moment and enjoy what is there, because life could be over anytime.

As a child, we curiously explored our environment. Today, every waiting time is bridged by looking at our smartphones. We have forgotten to explore and live in the moment. My works mostly depict inconspicuous everyday situations - with plenty of room for our own seeing and discovering.

In my opinion, engaging with the moment and one's being is an essential component of mental health.

Mental well-being is at the core of my art. I can share experiences and feelings as I have been affected by depression like many others. My goal is not to show what depression feels like. Rather, I want my art to be fueled by those experiences. I feel the color and the brushstroke. And when these feelings reach my viewer, then my work is complete.
