Cold gauze on panel, acrylic paint, pastel
This work is the first one that I started to paint as a series of themed works.
Some of you may have noticed the title.
The motif is the Major Arcana of the Tarot, and The Fool has the number 0.
It's not a card, so it's just an image of the word, and I didn't consider the meaning or the promise of the card.
I interpreted The Fool as a European court clown, and since I had an image of the clown in King Lear, I asked my favorite monkey animal, the mandrill, to play the role.
I think he has the perfect sense of intelligence and humor.
It may be hard to tell from the picture, but the background is gold, so when the light hits it, it glitters and reflects beautifully. Also, I used pastels, but I didn't use them as they are, I crushed them into powder and mixed them into the paint to give it texture.
