Description

This work is painted with acrylic paint on wooden panels and cardboard. The paint applied over the cardboard appears with each stroke, bringing changes to the form. The "hearts" in MONKNORI's works are simple in shape, yet express complex emotions hidden within their soft curves. At first glance, the heart is perceived as a symbol of love and joy, but MONKNORI's work reveals the deeper emotions and inner conflicts of the heart. Concept

Working in a wide variety of styles and techniques, including painting and collage, MONKNORI focuses on the visual aspects that shape pop culture and consumer society, and incorporates them into many of his creations. The "1 PAGE" series, which he has been working on continuously since around 2006, is a series of paintings and collages on the pages of international fashion magazines, which for the artist is a daily record of his work. Guided by MONKNORI's sense of "the moment," the works take on color and thickness, and are sublimated into artworks. At the same time, the overlaid figures become more anonymous, the advertising page loses its function, and a purer painting emerges on the screen where individual features, expressions, words, and information are covered up. If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
