The city of Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, is a horizontal urban area sandwiched between mountains and the sea. On the mountain side is Mount Rokko, and on the sea side is the Port of Kobe, each with its own famous landmarks. This painting is a collection of landmarks that represent the sea side.
In the background, the torii (gate) and the main hall of the Minatogawa Shrine are silhouetted as if they were floating, and the shrine's chrysanthemum crest is painted in gold. The branches at the top represent olive trees planted in the shrine grounds because Kobe was the site of Japan's first olive cultivation. In the center is a cruise ship docked at the Port of Kobe with seagulls flying over, and at the bottom is a close-up of the Kobe Port Tower. The red color of the port tower is emphasized, and the entire image is unified in red tones. This work is filled with the charm of this beautiful city. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
