These are Sewappy dolls. Painstakingly drawn in crayon on watercolor paper.

Sewappi is a dwarf god who is said to "make wishes come true" in the folk tales of the northern tribes. Sewappy is a dwarf god who is said to grant wishes in northern folk tales.
Sewa" means "all-knowing, all-powerful god" in the language of the northern tribe, the Wirta.

This is one of Ichiro Takezawa's representative works, and it is also in the collection of the Numazu Shoji Museum of Art in Shizuoka Prefecture.
In 2020, it will be housed at the Machinaka Art Museum in Monbetsu, Hokkaido, the city where the artist was born.
