The work arose from the idea of slow motion animation technique, so I wanted to apply motion to the picture. First, I had to figure out how to get the faces to change positions, even being part of the picture and the image, making various sketches and developing ideas to solve the movement of the faces and making mechanics part of the composition. With wood, bolts, nuts, screws I put the round barrel (gives movement to the faces) on top of the canvas without breaking it. Using acrylic and marker I was shaping the work, achieving the final result you see. Take around 2-3 weeks to produce the work.
The faces and the body are mine. You could say that it is a self-portrait in itself, you can see element that I can use frequently in my paintings that are: the cloud trees, the human heart, the eyes located anywhere, glass objects and others.
I like to think that he’s spinning his head over the glass of wine he drinks and that every face is the drunkard’s emotional metamorphosis
