Acrylic on gesso primed MDF from 2020.
When I’m painting with wax, because of the characteristics of the material, I have to consider every stroke. First, I have to decide which color I want to use and where I want to use it, because the wax dries quickly on the brush too, not just on the picture. Therefore, using acrylic is a meditative activity where I can follow my spontaneous ideas and go with the flow. This is how these abstract organic forms are born from my unconscious and my very strong and often dominant rational self gives meaning and lifts them from total abstraction. This creative process is facilitated by the fact that I make my acrylic paintings basically with translucent, translucent colors using the glazing technique.
The MDF panel is mounted on a frame. Ready to hang!
