The Forgotten is part of JuanCarlos' Fading World Series. In the parallel narrative entitled 'Flor', the Fading World Series is an event that happens simultaneously as the flower dies and disperses into the Cosmos as particles; the cities then turn to ash, symbolically mimicking the events of the flower as it fades away.
In reality, it touches on the fragility of our existence as a result of our own behavior, pertaining to the world; we're ravaging and devouring the planet, yet we seem to point our fingers outwards, first to blame everyone else for a damage we are contributing to, and then, to expect that someone else will take care of said damage...
In this painting one can notice the outlines of faded buildings in the distance, with a silhouette of a tree in the foreground, representing nature regenerating itself after the virus that was destroying it has left the planet.
