“Egyptian Princess” is made of several materials – all composed to make the strong female figure – Cleopatra in her early years – glamorous, but elegant and powerful. The artwork is made of gold leaf, plastic foil, metal, gold varnish (that was also re-used) and rhinestones. Her posture is feminine because showing that she can embrace both – being a woman and being powerful. Also her gesture is slightly provocative, as if she would say: hey, what do you want? So, I am a female ruler, and I am goddess-like princess, do you have a problem with that? The ancient Egyptian theme emphasizes something that is mythical, untouchable and sublime. With my artwork I want to express that women have the right to be powerful and graceful and that they should not feel guilty about it – just like Cleopatra does.
