“This is the 4th part of a series of artworks I created to try and make peace in the world, the first was a mural in Astoria Park, Queens,NYC that said “WORLD PEACE IS POSSIBLE”; The next 3 artworks show soliders enjoying life and helping the world instead of destroying it. In the 2nd part of this series of artworks I drew two soldiers from different armies in a museum looking at one of my paintings instead of trying to kill each other. The painting I drew didn’t exist until now, I created the design for the painting in that drawing, then painted it, I also added different colors and symbols to update the meaning of the painting. The additions I added are a camera with a cancel symbol over it, meaning that I believe people, especially people who are in power should not only do good things in front of cameras to gain popularity and power, they should do it to actually make a positive change in the world. I also added 4 soldiers looking at a tree they planted (bottom right) instead of destroying the earth and other people and animals with bombs. I hope people (Especially armies) see this painting, read the description and are motivated to make peace with the countries they are at war with and end the wars they are in. I believe this is one of the greatest achievements any human being can achieve. I achieved one of the greatest things an Artist can achieve, I sold one of my paintings 2 years ago in 2020 and used part of my proceeds to feed a homeless man. Now I look to continue my success and do more great things for the world. I painted this in Bryant Park in the Winter of 2021, it took multiple sessions, for a month I painted this canvas in very cold weather, my hands often would freeze and I had to switch hands and paint with my left hand (I’m a righty) while the other hand was kept in my coat pocket to heat up. It was important for me to paint this in Bryant Park because that is where Nas and Tupac met in 1996 to settle their issues, things almost got deadly, but thankfully they made peace and showed respect for each other.” - Nasir @NasirsVision 12/26/2021 @bryantparknyc
