After the loss of a pregnancy in 2006 I was devastated because it was my second loss and the doctors thought I would never be able to conceive again. While creating this painting I began to reminisce on that early morning we she came to visit me, God. It was around 3 or 4 am when she appeared; very tall, pale skin, glasses, and wearing a nurses uniform. She appeared out of nowhere and gently wiped my tears from my eyes, held my hand and said you will have another child. At that moment I felt at ease and went to sleep.
When I woke in the morning I asked another nurse where is the nurse who worked earlier this morning? I began to describe her, tall, pale skin, glasses. The nurse kindly replied that there no white nurses that worked on my floor.
I had my first solo art show a few months later and my daughter within two years.
