Inspired by Psalm 91:2: I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
The morning I painted this I noticed the cloudy skies and approaching storm over the mountains. Later that day I thought about when life is full of storms - when spiritual or physical circumstances are challenging us - we must seek shelter in God. He will protect us, encourage us, guide us, and help us. It's a reminder to not use your own strength, but use His. You don't need to stay in the rain, but can always take cover in Him. Know that you can overcome all things through Christ who gives you strength.
Using layers upon layers of acrylic paints, pastels, charcoal, graphite and other media, rich textures and expressive surfaces are created.
