The magic pigeon is the first painting of this series "Secret Gardens", gardens that are mostly found in cities, in courtyards, balconies ... here at the window of the viewer. He has only his window as a garden towards the world, in a city populated and solitary at the same time. A simple subject like the pigeon shows here its strength and complexity both by the treatment of the technique in ink and watercolor.
Once again I use semi-perspectives to describe my main subject. Between childish and naive the pigeon here, represented as a charming birdie, borrows its beauty from the Chinese aesthetics.
It is in this painting that the blue ink revealed itself to me. Then I made it the omnipresent technique in this series of paintings.
