Once upon a time there was a labyrinth, a bird and a golden cage... With this work, I wanted to continue my years in textile creation by imitating certain motifs.
Like a drapery, this painting alludes to ancient chinoiseries, here, it is the story of a parrot lost in the garden of his master. Exotic birds are very dear to me, they are the birds of my tropical childhood.
Will he be able to return to his golden cage?
Several types of techniques are presented, this work is part of my theme of secret gardens and illustrates perfectly the search for freedom by small animals as those of humans also in our golden cages. Sometimes we flee from them, sometimes we are well inside.
Freedom in every sense of the word is part of my pictorial research. How to interpret it, how to make it feel and how to illustrate it.
