"If Only I Could Reach The Sun" is an acrylic painting about underachieving. The point of view takes the feeling of being downtown for the first time, looking upwards to see the sun. There are some buildings in this painting that are based on real buildings in Calgary- some more realistic and true, while others may have been re-imagined differently. There are lots of hidden meanings, scenes, details, people, and little surprises thrown into this painting whether it be between buildings or in windows. Months spent detailing, with almost a month entirely dedicated just to painting window frames. There were no stencils or guides used in this painting, and the whole piece was done by slowly painting everything by hand, or scraping paint against the canvas with a palette knife.
