  • About this artist

    Concept

The diverse group of people with exceptionally rich culture and traditions yet, all living together despite their difference is the best description for a typical Nigerian or African structure. The same structure which inspires Peter August tondo to produce exceptional works of art. The interaction between diverse group of people leaving in Africa creates a great variety of beauty that spices each other and produces such beautiful sceneries and amazing stories the world should hear.. stories August is painting with definite strokes and thick colour application that expresses his state of mind and thoughts about the society he hails from. He gives you his world in colours and in form that brightens your heart when you look closer and with an open mind of acceptance. He does this by some special skills that he employs in working such as the use of sawdust to mould up a high relief in some of his works before painting to create emphasis. A style which distinguishes his works from his counterparts.
Consequently, one would say August is a Nigerian based artist who's basically inspired by his environment which is colourfully beautiful in disguise.
