One night I drove with some close friends out into the wilderness to go camping. I was dealing with severe health issues at the time, and every moment felt like a battle to stay sane. I felt alone and abandoned by God.
As we pulled up into our campsite, we looked up into the black sky above. Although, the sky was not completely black. As our eyes adjusted, the clear expanse of an endless heavens opened up before us. The majesty of an endless array of stars spread before our eyes. With some wonderful friends around me, my heart was able to receive the beauty that was above us. Galaxies upon galaxies for eternity - all known intimately by the Creator.
“More numerous than the stars in the sky,” the book of Genesis says referring to the descendants of Abraham. I was reminded in that moment looking up at the stars of our place in God’s Kingdom. His promises of goodness never fading. He has not forgotten us. This celestial cathedral of the night skies reminds us of His love.
“Cathedral of the Night” was created on a 1.5” thick stretched canvas, with the painting continuing around the edges of the canvas.
