Acrylic on Canvas, Ready to hang.
When Kerry came across this image she was inspired by the fresh sense of movement - reminiscent of dance and ballet, but also wizardry and almost "Harry Potter" or "Hermione-esque" - giving a magical sense that this woman lives her life with passion, and she challenges us to doubt her. With the swishing of the arms, and the model's direct gaze, it gave Kerry pause to name it after a line in the novel "The Wanderess" by Roman Payne. An uplifting message for any person breaking free of others expectations and constraints.
Kerry has used a contemporary approach using techniques such as expressionism and pop art to capture her model in contrasting colours of red, orange and blue. In this square composition of an underwater world, the light highlights her hands and face as she bobs just under the surface.
