This painting belongs to a series of portraits of writers whose work I appreciate.
Here, Naguib Mahfouz, Egyptian writer, Nobel Prize in literature in 1988. He was nicknamed the Zola of the Nile because of his political and social commitment. His Cairo trilogy, which follows the life of a family through three novels, is extremely powerful.
Writers Series: MAHFOUZ, 2021, mixed media on canvas, 66 x 52.5 cm.
