Liesbeth Willaert uses a very specific, authentic colour pallet. Her work is all about finding “Beauty in the Chaos”. The key of her work is the contrast between organic and inorganic or geometric shapes. It’s like a dance between those elements and the power and dynamics of the painting are all due to this contrast and combination. As well, a move from this Belgian artist to sunny Barcelona is extremely noticeable in her work. To add depth and dimension to her work, Liesbeth often integrates other materials such as sand, metal, paper, tissue and powders from stones to the canvas. All of her paintings are based on an urge to express the inner self. As such, when a painting is final we could speak of a realized 'inner trip', a kind of ‘voyage’. Her works are mostly described as ‘lyrical abstracts’ or how she likes to call them “COLORESCAPES”. Her work aims to CONNECT, REVEAL, INSPIRE.
