Concept

Finding a constant source of inspiration in people, my work focusses on a portrayal of the human form. Valuing internal worlds and unique ways of being, each emotionally charged portrait and figure aim to manifest a sense of humanity and connection.

With an openness for original outcomes, I like to experiment with various techniques and mediums to create original and unique artwork. My approach is typically not wedded to certain methodologies but instead pursues energy and visual impact over realistic depiction.

I draw from social and creative sources to inform my representation of emotion and spirit. Influenced by the Renaissance and Expressionism, I also like to borrow elements from graphic design and street art. Travel has inspired my focus on the human figure, too. Growing up on my parents’ boat around the world led to less of a love for places than of their people.

Inspired by human emotions, the impermanence of facial expressions, femininity, ethnicity or cultural diversity, my work offers room to interpretation, asking viewers to realise their individuality as well as their connection to others.
