This scene is an original taken from my memory as a young boy on our hundred-acre farm, which was just north of Toronto, the hayfield with a small pond. It was late in the day, sundown, December with a yellow/red sunset.
I roamed the fields as a child and later drove a team of horses during the harvest. During the winters we had a horse-drawn sleigh for hayrides. The sleigh was also used for hauling logs for the three fireplaces in the homestead.
All good memories and now in this painting.
