Tribeca is the clever name given to a neighborhood that would otherwise be known as, “Triangle Below Canal”. Certainly the name Tribeca is the lesser of two evils. It is the location of the illustrious Duane and Reade Streets that owe their name to the ubiquitous pharmacy chain, and it is the sanitized habitat of the rich and beautiful. In a word, Tribeca is boring, maybe even charmless. However, for those with a discerning eye who know where to look there is a world of alleyways lined with brick and cobblestone and bridges of windows that connect buildings. A trip down one of these alleys is like stepping back in time. It is a pity it should be hidden but, it can be our little secret.
