"Tranche d'orange" is a 50x80cm acrylic painting on canvas. In the center, a large orange slice is adorned with a heart into which a sword is stuck, perhaps symbolizing the duality between love and pain.
To the left, a young woman in a green and yellow swimsuit, accompanied by a monkey on her back, seems to be pointing at this heart, inviting the viewer to linger. To her right, another woman in a red and white skirt, adorned with a glittering cross, is accompanied by a serval and a moth. A Russian-inspired woman/bird brooch is placed on the orange slice, adding a touch of exoticism and mystery. Finally, a blonde woman with braided hair poses with a toucan above her, creating a contrast between the lightness of the birds and the heaviness of the symbols present. Flowers adorn the bottom of the painting, adding a touch of femininity and delicacy to the whole. This work is my first experience with acrylics, and is a real artistic challenge where bright colors, meticulous details and esoteric symbols mingle.
