The materials of the work are acrylic gouache and canvas. It is not framed, but the sides are painted with acrylic gouache.
The roses I grow have a soft yellow color. Still, they have shadows, and even when they are blooming beautifully, they have shadows. When I am happy but my loved ones are in pain, I was looking at this rose and wanted to represent the symbiosis of beauty and shadow in one rose.
As for the particulars, I decided on the colors in search of essential expression by growing roses and touching the subject and making sketches over and over again. I value the generous and gorgeous space in which the roses are displayed by making the colored surfaces appear large.
