Description

This painting represents the power of words in Love: I Love You, Je T'Aime... Les Mots d'Amour Singer Juliette Greco and many others have sung the song "Parlez-moi d'Amour", which refers to the different stages in Love and the need to Feel or Perceive it. Words of Love are integrated into the painting in various calligraphies. An "I love you" is placed on the lips of this pretty woman, who seems to turn abruptly, by the movement of her hair in the wind, towards someone to say "I love you" and meet his or her gaze before continuing on her way. A few barcodes are integrated to symbolize the consumer society we live in, and modernism. Musical notes, in fragments, make up this painting, to reinforce the gaze, for there are no Words of Love without Music.

Concept

Karine Langevin, KJL, is a visual artist. She was born in 1972 in Dijon and currently lives in Gif-sur-Yvette. Painting has always been part of her universe. Graduated in Plastic Arts, she practises different currents and pictorial techniques. In 2005, she became a full-time painter. In 2015, she joined the Taylor Foundation in Paris and, since 2019, several galleries represent the artist internationally. In her pictorial approach, KJL seeks to concentrate emotions in the visual aesthetics of matter and color. Her attraction to painting faces has naturally led her to portraits, but abstracts are also part of her artistic palette.
