    Description

Have you ever heard of the wind called Bura? If you ever visited Croatia then I believe you have experienced Bura, the mighty north-eastern wind.

Bura is the cold and dry wind and it is famous for strong unexpected bumps of wind. It blows through the entire year.

In my place Bura is very strong and when there are days of heavy humidity in the air you only wish to feel the Bura. It will bring the instant fresh and dry air, it will disperse the clouds, and not to forget, it will mess with your hair.

I love Bura since it will instantly change your mood and give you a better feeling.

The strongest one was registered at 304 km/h. Sometimes it rises the seawater so strong that it creates a mist above the sea and then you will see the fascinating seascapes, a neverending inspiration :)

  • About this artist

    Concept

Vallenssia, is a self-taught artist. She has been practicing a large range of artistic techniques, mostly graphics, gouache and ink, watercolour and acrylics.

She is very creative person and always exploring new techniques. For some time she experimented with the melted wax applied with spatula, melted oil crayons and other unusual media.

The themes are mostly human figures and human faces going beyond the realism and slightly stepping into the abstract. She loves unusual angles of the body and the body muscularity combined with the Renaissance women.
Her main goal is giving the viewer another angle, another perspective, another point of view.

Besides the figure and faces she mostly captures abstract landscapes, filled with colour and air. Her paintings are meant to be explored; the painting seems to be changing as the daylight changes throughout the day. So many layers, so many details that cannot be absorbed in one glimpse.

The esteemed Ms. Alexis Culotta, PhD in Art History, an expert in Italian Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture, and the work of Raphael reviewed her artworks and compared it to the Old Masters, and the exactly ones Vallenssia admired to all her life, DaVinci, Dali, Michelangelo.
Her paintings have been presented in the ArtAscent printed Art Magazine as a Bronze Featured Artist among many artists of the world.

FEATURED AS BRONZE ARTIST IN THE ARTASCENT MAGAZINE
Extract of the Review of Alexis Culotta, PhD in Art History, ArtAscent Magazine, an expert in Italian Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture, and the work of Raphael

"...her skill as a portraitist echoes the finessed intricacies of the Old Masters. Her painted profiles are rendered with a touch akin to Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa (1503) or Michelangelo's Libyan Sibyl (1508-1512), with contours and colouring that bring her sitters to life in vibrant detail..."
