This work attempts to overturn people's notions of beauty and ugliness and their unconscious visual preconceptions by daring to express the motif of insects, which are often abhorred as dirty, scary, and disgusting, as delicate and beautiful lacework. The harmonious network of a vast number of insects is expressed in a geometric pattern, just like weaving lace. The work is drawn with the hope that viewers will feel that there is a vast and rich world of buzzing insects in the soil and shade of the grass beneath our feet, which we are not aware of in our daily lives. The work is painted in a semi-dimensional form using acrylic paint.
