'Moment of Surrender' is one of a developing collection entitled ‘Moments'. The minimalistic canvas's rich texture reveals two delicate figures, engaged in a moment of interconnection. An abstraction of fluid forms, portraying my continued interest in the human condition.
Expressionistic yet controlled the strips of bandage, a metaphor for damage and healing, is teased until the disposition of the piece is disclosed. These unique reliefs create forms, revealing eclectic emotional expressions through the contorts of the paint soaked fabric.
Although movement remains a key factor within this collection, these abstracted forms appear constrained in a moment in time. Using acrylic paints, the extremely matt Ultra Blue topcoat is thinly layered over the dense Payne’s grey background, giving a marbled richness to the finished piece.
