"The Dreamer" is a contemporary, unique and original work made with acrylic paint on linen canvas. This expressionist portrait is part of my series of zoomed-in portraits. The choice of the close-up to increase the effect of face-to-face, also work more freely the textures. For the face of this woman, with a calm and peaceful expression, that one can imagine dreaming, I wanted to play between abstraction and figuration by breaking up the face, building through deconstruction. I called it "The Dreamer", underlining this bridge between figurative and abstract. I do not seek to represent reality, but to create a harmony of forms and colors in the portrait. The color scheme is warm and vibrant.
A glossy varnish is applied to the canvas. Hanging system provided.
