This series attempts to express a bird's-eye view of life.
We live by being connected.
Countless individuals are connected to form the next layer. The natural world is a repetition of this process.
It all starts with microparticles that are common to all things.
Then, cells, then individuals, then societies and ecosystems, and so on.
There, time flows without stopping.
Life is like a ship that sails on the sea of eternity, connected to others and to the world.
In this series, the motifs of cells → whales (individuals) → maps (society)
The series expresses an ark of life swimming along the time axis, using motifs of different levels of hierarchy in parallel.
It is said that Japanese people have infinite sympathy for nature.
The nature that surrounds us, the life that belongs to that nature, and the sense of impermanence that they all undergo as they continue to change without end.
This series is an attempt to express the feelings we have held toward nature and life since ancient times.
▷Concept of this work
I consider the seashore as a front line where nature and civilization collide, and I expressed symbiosis with nature by creating a city out of driftwood and sand from various beach debris, including garbage. The hologram sheet peeking out from the background expresses the great natural world that lies outside the human body's perception. (The holograms spectrate light and show us the truth that sunlight and lighting, perceived by the human eye as white light, is a bunch of rainbow colors.)
I believe that art has an aspect of walking with human history and documenting the present time. In recent years, there has been much talk about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the international goals set forth by the United Nations; the SDGs are a historical awareness of the progress humanity has made to date, and a great movement to rethink our course for the future, for people and for the planet. With the hope that we will record this transmission and connect it to the future, we have included the image colors of the SDGs in the depiction and sides of the blood flow, which shows the connection of life.
There is no frame, but a wall-mounting bracket and string are attached to the back.
