Description

When I was a child, I loved the moments when I made Christmas tree with my mom during the Christmas season. The Christmas tree was so pretty, with a large plastic green fir tree with sparkling colored glass balls and various Christmas decorations, a large gold star on the top of the tree, and lighting up the dark room when the light bulb was turned on. The Christmas tree, which represents children's dreams and hopes, was always fun and happy to make. It is a pleasant memory of my childhood Christmas with my mother and family.

Mia Kim is an award-winning South Korean painter whose art has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally, as well as in Japan and the United States. Her works express the daily life of contemporary man, constantly busy in a rapidly changing city. Kim’s narratives are conveyed through simple shapes, vibrant colors and bold lines. She uses both acrylic and oil painting on canvas.

My work aims an artist's own story which is quite personal and descriptive. Small but touching experience felt in everyday life through 「The work looking into myself」. Childhood memories and inner story. This is not just an artist's own story but a self-portrait of everyone living today which is rapidly changing.

Recently through ‘Urban Landscape Project’, I am not just representing loneliness and mind of people today by a foliage plant’s indoor purification and primarily function to watch leaves in indoor space of the dreary city, but working data-on focusing data-on how the space changes when the plants are laid in indoor and outer space.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
