Halloween Day in Korea in 2022 was a very sad day. There was a catastrophe among the people who gathered in Itaewon to enjoy Halloween. A sudden crowd in a narrow alley near the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon pushed people to the ground, resulting in 158 deaths.
The accident caused many casualties, and Korea had a mourning period until November 5. Itaewon is a famous place where many foreigners visit in Korea, and among the dead, there were many young people in their 20s and 30s, including foreigners.
This work was painted during the mourning period of the Itaewon disaster, and the artist also remembers the tears of their parents in memory of the dead. Among the parents of the dead in their teens and 20s on this day is a hard-working super mom, and we have no idea how sad and tearful their parents were.
She hopes that such a disaster will never happen again. She painted the memory of many people in Korea.
