This new series is an extension of Tania's fascination with the colours and textures of the unique Australian landscape, in particular her focus has turned to Native Grass Trees.

These iconic trees have fascinated her for years with their slow growth and beautiful form. Capturing these trees in her work is a means to draw attention to the fact that they are endangered.

Populations of many species of grass tree have been devastated by Cinnamon Fungus. land clearance for agriculture and urban development; inappropriate burning; overharvesting of foliage and illegal removal of the plants.

Through the use of strong lines, bold colours and overpainted textures Tania is endeavouring to capture the delicacy and strength of this vast country.
Whether it's the rugged rocks of southern Tasmania to the orange ochres of the far north, Tania is completely captivated by its ever changing beauty.
