In 2023 Andrew Weir started a new series titled “Good Grief”. This series includes line drawings of everyday objects, text, and gestural mark making. These paintings are made with a limited colour palette of mostly blacks, whites, and pinks. “Good Grief” is a new way for Weir to create an interplay between recognisable and abstract forms in an impactful graphic whole.
This painting is inspired by Warhol’s “Skull, 1976”.
This piece is produced on high quality canvas and is protected with a matt varnish. It is signed with a Hanko (Japanese name stamp), dated, and titled on the reverse side.
