If I had Three Wishes is a meditation on our desires and how those change from how we first envision them, sometimes when they're already fulfilled. Djinns, or more commonly known as genies, are typically portrayed in popular culture as mischievous and likely to creatively interpret one's wishes (usually in a way that achieves the opposite outcome). I find that this still occurs often in our own personal human experiences, where the object of our prayers is not what we expected once they're granted and sometimes the greatest blessings come from events that we initially consider negative. Our dreams and goals shift, twist, and turn, then bring about changes and effects that can terrify or excite us. Yet even with this unpredictability, we still yearn to rub the lamp for a chance of finding fortune and fulfillment.
