HASHIMOTO materializes the relationship between the present time and himself, an individual and the surroundings, in this series. Specifically, he captures “the present as in accumulated time” in his wooden sculpture. He believes that artwork becomes a mirror image that reflects the times when an artist chooses to express their present time in their artworks.
In this work, he represents “travelling.” The concept of travelling for him is the flickering fluidity and he chose this concept, travelling, as the motif for this work. He indeed captures his concept and inspirations for travels as a compound phenomenon in this work.
