Dream of the sun

Concept

I draw the "existence of life" from multiple layers of lines and textures. While traveling to various regions in Japan and abroad to create videos and animations, I began to feel that existence is created by other beings as I observed the movement and colors of living creatures and nature. I then began to create paintings in order to express myself with things that have an actuality that I can actually touch. When I touch nature, I sometimes feel my own existence. This is because the existence of life, which is dedicated to living, teaches me about my own existence. Each one of us is a tiny being, but many lives have gathered together to create this big universe. Even if we are not directly involved, the present moment is created by the existence of life from the past to the present, and I believe that you and I are a part of that. My work is created by the overlapping of lines and colors, and the repetition of construction and destruction. Lines and colors that are buried beneath later become texture, and the presence of each shape and color enhances and supports the other shapes and colors. Every moment is an instantaneous miracle woven by the interplay of life, and nothing is ever the same again. If any one thing were missing, neither this moment nor this painting would exist. To touch the existence of life is to touch one's own existence. To paint "the presence of life" is to paint you, and perhaps to paint yourself. A work of art can exist only when there is someone to see it. And we hope that the existence of the work will lead to your existence.
