I was born in the snow country of Japan.
For me, snow is a motif that holds many memories.
However, not only me, but also human beings accumulate memories and sometimes forget them.
As time passes, memories are subjected to the whirlpool of oblivion, their clarity disappears, and they simply float around in my mind as vague images with a sense of abstraction.
The Memory of Snow" depicts fragments of my memories of the snow country where I spent 23 years of my life.
The color, coldness, and temperature of snow, its sometimes moist and sometimes dry texture, and its ability to reflect light.
In this way, snow has a variety of expressions.
I have incorporated my own memories of snow into my paintings in the "Memory of Snow" series.
The work is framed with a wooden panel of the same size as the canvas attached from the back.
