In the early stages of his career, he experimented with figurative silhouettes within an abstract picture plane.
A shadowy motif peeps through the texture of the green-blue-white base, which looks like rusted bronze.
This work is intended to express an epic poem of time.
My career started with an organic abstract style using "Layering", a method of constructing a screen by layering acrylic paints and sandpaper, which I discovered in 1999. I began to have doubts.
Therefore, I decided to introduce figurative motifs into the screen composition while continuing the technique as it was, and developed the "Reunion Series" including this work as a series from around 2001, starting with Silhouette 2002. (In 2001, I began to introduce figurative motifs into the series, starting with silhouettes in 2002. This work was created in 2001 in this process.
The panel used is double-sided, front and back. The entire surface of the screen, sides, and back were painted. The same color as the background color of the screen is also painted on the sides. On the screen, after prepainting and scraping to destroy the grain, more than 20 layers of paint are applied as a depiction, including partial and solid layers, and grinding with water-resistant sandpaper while spraying water is repeated until the finished screen is found. The slit on the back of the work is a ventilation duct in the panel, but pins and hooks can also be used for installation.
The smooth matiere can be wiped clean with a dish towel.
One of the characteristics of painting, "multilayered magic" is used to achieve a spectacle that exists only on the support.
Since 1999, I have been pursuing the possibility of painting with consistent technique and matière of "layering and polishing of acrylic paint".
