"Grand spectacle" is composed of pictorial elements from artist Patrick Gourgouillat's "Le troisième mois" series. It is a frontal representation of the world of the sun and moon, with the possibility of external and internal influences. Beyond an almost circus-like staging, this work attempts to highlight different aspects of things shown and hidden. Drawing mainly on the work entitled "I am many", the artist uses his drawing work to tell a story that is both dark and luminous. Technically, it consists of black printed paper, cut and pasted onto canvas. The glued motifs are then enhanced with black acrylic, as if to fix the intensity of the hue. Handmade elements in black, gold and orange are then added to the composition. The whole is covered with a matte varnish.
