I created this work by combining a mirror that repels evil and a whirlpool motif that is meant to ward off evil. The base of the painting is made of Nebula sand from Koromiya Shrine. (The main deity of Koromiya Shrine, Gojumugumo no Mikoto, is also the "god of trees," the "god of life," and the "god of protection from evil.) The sides are covered with embroidery thread and painted with sequined pigments, and the surface is finished with a gloss burnish. The dark blue lines are interrupted on the right side to resemble the shape of a crescent moon. The back side is also primed and signed with a galaxy drawn from a little distance and from the back side. It is delivered in a drawstring bag made of cloth with a gauze pattern, which has the meaning of prosperity and longevity, with simple wrapping and protected by a cushioning material. Size of mirror: 4.8 cm in diameter Size of painting: 10 cm in diameter, 2.0 cm thick
