Description

Sketch from life. The drawing shows the Church of St. Demetrius in Maglizh. Bulgaria. The church after restoration. A special eclectic style of architecture. The main dome of the church is surrounded by four turrets with pointed tops. The architectural composition refers to the Church of St. Sophia in Istanbul, where four minarets, built later by the Turks, surround the main dome of the church. The church dominates over small-scale residential buildings, as befits an Orthodox church.
