In summer, everything seems brighter.
That's why very vivid and clean colors were chosen for the painting. This is precisely why the sand is golden, not yellow, and the flowers are so close to the viewer. When I painted this picture, I was inspired by my vacation on the island of Sardinia.
There, I was completely alone but didn't feel loneliness. I felt free, happy, and loved—free like the birds by the sea, like the sea itself, like the flowers. The sea was so warm and tender that it was impossible not to feel loved and happy. What harmony and freedom in the atmosphere of that place.
I wanted to share all of this so that people, looking at the painting, could feel a little happier and know that there is a place on Earth where you can feel free, happy, and loved even in complete solitude.
